Lydia is a courtroom attorney and focuses her practice on complex civil litigation and white-collar defense. She has considerable litigation experience, so she understands the importance of counsel’s role in helping clients meet their objectives in a timely, resourceful and decisive

She has extensive courtroom appearance and has managed hundreds of felony and
misdemeanor cases. She has tried over a dozen cases in front of a jury and multiple cases in front of the bench. She has effectively argued dozens of evidentiary hearings and successfully written and argued countless dispositive pre-trial motions.

From 2012 to 2018, Lydia served as a Deputy Public Defender in Whatcom County. As a senior deputy, she handled misdemeanor and felony trial caseloads, fully litigating cases from inception to resolution.

Through years of public service as a court appointed trial attorney, Lydia sought justice with intelligence, skill, and grace. Her trial skills have been greatly enhanced by training she received at the National Criminal Defense College’s Trial Practice Institute.

Lydia is admitted to practice in the United States District Court – Western District of Washingtonand has also practiced before the Immigration Court in Seattle.

Lydia takes pride in giving back to the community and she regularly volunteers with Washington New Americans and One America. She has received commendation from the Washington StateBar Association for performing over 50 hours of pro bono public service.
